Marisa Katz is the Deputy Director of Commercial Tobacco Control Programs at the Public Health Law Center. Marisa supports the Director in leading a team of attorneys working to promote commercial tobacco control policy throughout the United States. She coordinates with local, state, national, and Tribal public health professionals and advocates, providing strategic leadership and legal technical assistance on law and policy change, and provides litigation support in cases seeking to advance tobacco control and public health.

Prior to joining the Public Health Law Center, Marisa was a litigator for eighteen years, including most recently as a partner at a Minneapolis law firm representing clients in class action litigation on behalf of consumers and employees in federal and state courts nationwide. Earlier in her career, Marisa was a staff attorney at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, Inc., where she provided civil legal services to low-income individuals in New Orleans and southeast Louisiana.
