Safiya N. Morgan is a Senior Staff Attorney with the Public Health Law Center's Healthy Eating and Active Living and Public Health Infrastructure teams. She provides legal and policy capacity-building assistance to support communities, public health professionals, and Territorial, Tribal, state, and local governments at the intersection of law and health.

She has over 15 years of legal experience dedicated to advancing health equity through direct legal services, community and government partnerships, and the provision of public health law assistance. Prior to joining the Center, she served as a Public Health Analyst in the Public Health Law Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She spent nearly a decade at the New York Legal Assistance Group where she specialized in assisting immigrants who were survivors of crimes through a trauma-informed client-centered approach. A member of the California Society of Healthcare Attorneys, she is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French.
