On August 26, 2019, the Public Health Law Center hosted “A Decade of the Tobacco Control Act: Progress, Setbacks, and the Future of Tobacco Control." During this symposium, public health experts reflected on the passage of the Act, the FDA’s regulation of tobacco products, and the future of commercial tobacco regulation. The symposium took place in Minneapolis the day before the 2019 National Conference on Tobacco Health (NCTOH), and featured a keynote by U.S. Surgeon General Jerome M. Adams, and speakers from the FDA Center for Tobacco Products, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Center for Black Health and Equity, African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council, Truth Initiative, American Lung Association, and others.
