  • Total amount of money allocated - $9,444,608.31
  • How Allocated:
    • The funds will be put into the Attorney General Contingent Fund. From there, it will be used to pay attorney fees and expenses. (Sett. Agr. ¶43.) 
    • “It is the Parties’ intent that the payments be used, to the maximum extent practicable, to fund the following programs:”
      • Programs that provide cessation assistance to Mississippi residents who were exposed to ENDS when under the age of 21;
      • Education or prevention programs designed to prevent or reduce use of ENDS by Mississippi residents who are under the age of 21;
      • Research by independent third parties in support of preventing ENDS use by Mississippi residents who are under the age of 21
      • Programs or equipment designed to abate the impact that ENDS and other nicotine products have had on Mississippi students, schools, and school districts and to prevent such impact in the future; and
      • Efforts to mitigate the impact of (including by enforcing Mississippi and federal law with respect to) disposable ENDS, synthetic-nicotine products, and companies that have not taken steps like those described in the Stipulated Judgment to limit access to or use of nicotine and nicotine-synthetic products by Mississippi residents who are under the age of 21.
