General Plans are an important tool that California communities can use to advance various public health policies, including those related to reducing health harms from commercial tobacco. Within General Plans, there are several elements.
This training covers the General Plans Housing Element. Participants will learn about California’s Housing Element requirements, the Housing Element process, and where the Housing Element and commercial tobacco control policies can intersect. The training also includes examples of cities that use commercial tobacco control policies in their General Plans Housing Element.
