Legal Protections for Nursing Mothers in Minnesota

This webinar addresses the legal protections under both Minnesota and federal law that protect nursing mothers in the workplace. In addition, the webinar highlights the benefits of breastfeeding for mothers, infants, employers and our health care system overall. On January 20, 2011, the U.S. Surgeon General put out a “Call to Action to Support Breastfeeding”. This “Call to Action” outlines the steps that families, communities, employers and health care professionals can take to remove some of the barriers faced by women who want to breastfeed their babies.
